Well done and a big THANK YOU to all of our First Years who did a fantastic job helping in the annual Morriscastle Beach clean up. Students and Teachers set out early this morning to the local beach and helped to get rid of any rubbish that they found! Some Students even went for a swim! Fun and Games also took place, the highlight being the sandsculpting competition! Well done to Brendan Manning and Callum Gahan who won with their impressive crocodile! Well done to all involved!
Our 1st year Boys and Girls did us all proud yesterday! The boys played soccer against new local rivals Creagh College. The team was 3-1 down at half time and thanks to goals from the ’3 Jordans’ the match finished 4-4! Well done boys! The Girl’s Gaelic Football team beat Creagh College yesterday, well done to the girls and to Mr O’ Hanlon who has ensured some bragging rights over Mr O’ Loughlin!
Miss Rochford today was informed by DCU that 3 of our Students have been awarded ‘Highly Commended’ Awards in the DCU Crystal Growing Competition! The Students are; Niamh Newens, Aishling Brennan and Jamie Helly, all from 1C. The Students (and Miss Rochford!) have been invited to attend a prize-giving ceremony in DCU on Tuesday, May 22nd. Well done to everyone involved!
Ms. Kirwin and her Music students will travelled to the National Concert Hall on Friday 11th May to see the National Symphony Orchestra perform pieces by Rautavaara and Shostakovich. A great time was had by all!
Today, Thursday May 10th, all of our 5th Years are attending the Annual Road Safety Programme provided by the Garda Síochána.
Interviews for those wishing to be a Meitheal Leader will take place this Friday, May 11th from 9.30am to 3.45pm. There will be 33 Students involved. We wish them all the very best of luck!
5th years will be selling Badges and Pins for the Irish Heart Foundation on Friday, May 11th, please support a very worthy cause.
Two of our 5th Year Students are going on the Annual Ferns Diosecan Pilrimmage to Lourdes. Ryan Greenslade and Cassie Colliton, along with Ms. Browne, have been working very hard to help raise money for the trip. We are delighted to have this opportunity to send two of our Students as ambassadors for Coláiste an Átha to help out with such a worthy cause. A special thanks to Ms. Browne who has organised this for the students and who also organised a raffle for a signed Wexford hurling jersey! Congratulations to TJ Duffy in First Year who won the jersey!
