1C-Attendance League Winners

Well done to 1C who won the 1st year attendance league 2012-2013. The class had attendance of more than 93% for the entire year!1A & 1B also excelled with attendance of over 90%. The school is delighted with such brilliant attendance. The class were rewarded with an orienteering trip with another local school. Thank you to Ms. McGonigle who facilitated the league under JCSP and to Mr. O’ Hanlon who tracked the attendance.

Green Flag Flying High!

The school delighted to have its’ Green Flag flying high! Green-Schools, known internationally as Eco-Schools, is an international environmental education programme, environmental management system and award scheme that promotes and acknowledges long-term, whole school action for the environment.
Unlike a once-off project, it is a long-term programme that introduces participants (students, teachers, parents and the wider community) to the concept of an environmental management system. Well done to everybody who was involved with the Green Flag committee!

Annual Awards 2013

The annual awards day will take place in Colaiste an Atha on Thursday 23rd May @ 2pm. The event is a whole school celebration of all our hard work and achievement over the past academic year. Congratulations and well done to all our studentsfor another succesful and enjoyable year.

JCSP Graduation 2013

The JCSP Graduation will take place in Colaiste an Atha on Friday 24th May 2013 @ 1.45pm. We are celebrating all the hard work and dedication of our 3rd Year students at this event. All parents and guardians are invited to attend. The graduation will take place in the school gym and refreshments will be served afterwards. We hope to see you there.

Well done to 3 of our students who recently performed for students and staff at a lunchtime violin concert. The 3 students, Cliona, Amy and Daniel have just competed 20 weeks of violin lessons with violin teacher Jenny Boland. There was a lovely mix of traditional and classical music. Well done!

PLC FETAC Level 5 Exams

Boys Basketball Final

Well done and hard luck to our 2nd year boys basketball team. The boys made the final of the Wexford colleges basketball blitz and were beaten by an impressive St Peter’s team. Ms. Maguire was over the moon that the team beat CBS and Bridgetown (under the stewardship of Ms Manning!!). Well done lads!

1 Day to go!

South East Radio will be broadcasting a live forum next Friday, 10th May from 10am to 4pm to highlight cyberbullying and ways to deal with bullying if it happens to you! We as a school are endorsing and participating in this event. We are asking students and staff to either leave their phones at home or give them to their Tutors during registration. This morning on the intercom Darragh Hammel informed students that 1 in every 4 students gets bullied online. Sean Newens told students that in order to help create awareness we are taking part in “No Phones, No Facebook’ day on Friday.
